Jose Rizal wrote, “it is necessary to study their past.” To know the future of Gubat and its inhabitants, it is necessary to study their past.
Born on 8 March in Gubat, Sorsogon, he moved to Metro Manila for his college educationat University of the Philippines – Diliman.
To many youths today, history is a boring subject. Thus, they do not value the numerous legacies bequeath to them by their forefathers. One by one, these legacies are destroyed and forgotten. This essay purports to bring out some of these priceless legacies, especially those that survive the onslaughts of time and man’s destructiveness.
