          Narges Mohammadi

          Narges Mohammadi (Persian: نرگس محمدی; born 21 April 1972) is an Iranian human rights activist and scientist. She is the Vice-President of the Defenders of Human Rights Center.

          Mohammadi was born on 21 April 1972 in Zanjan, Iran,[1] to an Iranian Azerbaijani family.[2] She earned a degree in physics at the Imam Khomeini International University in Qazvin and is an engineer.[3]

          In 1999, she married a journalist, Taghi Rahmani, and they have two children.
